Corpus Christi emergency room services

Corpus Christi Medical Center healthcare system offers a wide range of emergency care services, including:

Heart attack

Our Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area and Corpus Christi Medical Center Doctors Regional hospitals are accredited Chest Pain Centers with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and Resuscitation. This designation recognizes the exceptional skill of our cardiac and emergency services teams and our expertise in providing effective and efficient treatment for heart attack symptoms.

Stroke care

Minutes matter when you are dealing with a stroke. As certified Primary Stroke Centers, Bay Area and Doctors Regional hospitals provide the quality of care needed to meet stroke patients' unique and specialized needs. This distinction recognizes a center’s commitment to following national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients. Our stroke programs draw on the expertise of neurologists, psychiatrists, physical therapists, emergency medicine physicians, stroke nurses and medical support specialists who are all committed to improving every aspect of stroke care. For patients who require rehabilitation after a stroke, we have an inpatient rehab program at Doctors Regional that can help you regain independence and improve your quality of life.

Trauma care

We have three designated trauma centers that serve our community's most critically injured members. As a Level II Trauma Center, Bay Area Hospital has a 24-hour, specially trained medical team available to care for severely injured patients. We provide our patients with subspecialty services like orthopedics and cardiovascular care and rapid access to surgical care. ER 24/7 Northwest and Doctors Regional are both designated Level IV Trauma Centers. At these facilities, we provide evaluation, stabilization, and diagnostic capabilities for injured patients. From there, we can treat our patients or transfer them to a higher-level trauma center to receive the appropriate care. Our trauma physicians, specialists, nurses and support staff are available around the clock to provide specialized care for severe, life-threatening injuries, such as gunshot wounds, serious car accidents and traumatic falls.
